“I listened to the song this morning, as I have so many time before, but the lyrics hit different this time. Things are changing at a rapid rate in America, but there is a steady peace knowing God is our shield. He fights for Us, He protects us from our enemies, and puts to shame those who would dare come against His people. He tells us in Proverbs 2:7b, “…He is a shield to those who walk up rightly.” This truth is displayed all through scripture, it’s a promise for us to cling to when it feels as though our enemies surround us. The lyrics were a refreshing reminder that I serve the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, a God who is a Mighty King, a Warrior, that fights for those who love Him. As long as I stay close to Christ, I am safe, protected, shielded from the schemes and fear-tactics of the enemy. And in this promise I can rejoice as I wait patiently for my King to call me home.” ❤️
