Manny Coronilla
Lead Pastor
Manny was saved back in 1989 and has served as Lead Pastor of Calvary Chapel El Monte since its inception, which initially started as a home Bible study back in February of 2002. He has been married to his lovely wife Shelly since 1992, and has 2 children – Ariel and Aaron.
In his own words, “Simply put, I have been the recipient of God’s abundant and amazing grace. I’m completely aware of the fact that I’m unworthy and unable, but I also believe I’ve been called by God, and it just so happens to be a calling to love and serve the most wonderful family and flock in the whole wide world.”
The Scriptures God used to encourage Manny in planting the church are Deuteronomy 31:6; Jeremiah 29:7; Galatians 2:10; Psalm 127:1; and John 14:31. Each one of these passages has a personal word in how God established the church in El Monte.

Henry Acosta
Assistant Pastor
Henry was saved back in 2004 at a Calvary Chapel Men’s Conference and has fellowshipped here at Calvary Chapel El Monte since 2006. He’s been on staff full-time since 2010.
In his own words, “I’ve been married to my beautiful bride Liz since 2002 and we have 3 boys, Jeremy, Maximus, and Isaac. From the first day, the message of the Gospel penetrated my heart, I’ve remained in awe of the grace God has shown me through Jesus Christ. I know that the Lord called me into ministry for no other reason than what Paul writes in, 1 Corinthians 1:26-27, ‘For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.'”

In his own words, “After a childhood filled with religion and family traditions my eyes/heart were opened through His word. I am extremely blessed to serve along side my brothers and sisters here at CCEM. What a wonderful work the Lord has done!”
Psalm 37:3-5, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”

Mark Barrios

Mark was saved back in 1988 and has attended Calvary Chapel El Monte since 2008, serving as an Associate Pastor since 2014. He has been married to his wife Eva since 1983, and has 4 children – Nancy, James, Michael, and Randy, as well as 8 grandchildren.
One of Marks favorite passages in the Bible is Romans 12:15, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”
In his own words, “My story at CCEM is a common one here at the church and simply put – it’s all of God. You come, God only knows how you find it, the Lord brings you is my deduction; you’re embraced by God through the beautiful people and you don’t ever want to leave. This is my home, these are my people, the Lord loves me through them, what else could I possibly want? And I love them too.”

In his own words, “The Lord has done an amazing work here at Calvary Chapel El Monte. I am utterly blessed and thoroughly unworthy to be a part of it . God’s beautiful people in this body have been so gracious to me through thick and thin, all I can do is obey His calling to serve and love them. Thank you Lord for your wonderful grace!”
Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

“When I gave my life to Jesus, I wasn’t in a church setting, I was home feeling alone and guilty for the things I had done. Right there in my apartment I remembered a verse that I heard a pastor quote a couple of years earlier, Romans 10:13, 'For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.' That's what I did, and the Lord saved me! His word never returns void. Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me..."

Abel Contreras
Associate Pastor
"In 1981 the Lord in His mercy found me when I didn’t know how lost I was. After many years of serving Him outside the church setting, the Lord led me to CCEM in 2006. I knew that He brought me to the church to serve but I had no idea of His plans. In 2010 I made myself available and began to serve wherever there was a need. I am not sure what God was thinking when He decided to use someone like me, but I have certainly been blessed. I have been brought through many challenges thus far and I am looking forward to what He does next."
Ephesians 3:20-21, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
