“A Word of Encouragement to Law Enforcement”

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.  Matthew 5:9

*** EVERY  CONTACT  HAS  A  PURPOSE ***

Have you ever stopped to think just how much detail goes into each contact you make while on duty? A simple stop on a driver for speeding can put things in perspective. The driver, coming from wherever, left at the exact time and drove at the exact speed taking the exact route necessary to come into the same location for you to observe the violation. Taking it further, you left wherever you were and drove at the exact speed and took the exact route necessary to locate that violation. A few seconds earlier or later and you may never have crossed paths. What does this mean? Every contact you make, every step you take, has purpose. In our scenario, you've now altered the path of this person, hopefully for the better, potentially protecting them and others from the dangerous outcomes of speeding. God placed you there to intervene and it's our job to trust the sovereignty of God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) says to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." The NKJV says to acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. We may never fully know the impact we've had on the outcomes of the lives of those we encounter on a daily basis, but we can trust that the Lord is in control and is orchestrating us for His purposes.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for using me to fulfill Your purposes, even when I can't see the final outcome. I pray that You would anoint the work of my hands and prepare me for each and every contact I will make. Lead me to the places where I can protect others and make a difference, either now or in that person's future. May You open doors for ministry opportunities and may Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Your brother,
