Promise of God - Jesus is our Savior
  • 1 John 4:14, “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.”
The apostle John speaks from his personal knowledge regarding the Savior of the world.  He can boldly testify that the Father sent His Son to save the world.  John’s testimony comes through himself being an eyewitness to the life of Jesus, as he had a front row seat to the Savior’s life.
In addition, John heard with his own ears Jesus prophesy His own death and resurrection.  John could testify as he was present at Jesus’ arrest, crucifixion and also saw the resurrected Christ.  John could further testify as he was present at Jesus’ arrest. We should be reminded that it was the Spirit of the Lord that testified to John and the others as to Jesus being the Son of God sent to save the world.

In the same manner, we who have not seen the resurrected Christ, believe by the testimony of the Holy Spirit.  Faith is required to believe that Jesus is the Son of God sent by the Father to be the Savior of the world.  Though the early church saw Jesus with their own eyes, faith was still needed.  Jesus told Thomas, “Blessed are those who have not seen but yet still believe." Thomas needed to see to believe.

Though I have not seen the resurrected Christ, I have personally received His touch.  Yes, I believe God's promise that Jesus is our Savior, and truly believe His Word to be His absolute Truth.  I am ultimately convinced through the testimony of His Spirit as to Jesus being the true God and Savior of the world.

There are many waiting for a Savior to save them from their hopeless situation.  My prayer is that they open their eyes to the One who already came and died for their sins.
Please Lord open the eyes of the blind and let them know the resurrected Christ as their Savior.

Your brother in Christ,
-Abel
