It Really Is Amazing Grace by Phil Wickham and Crowder
From: Naomi Rivas
It’s not often that a person thinks about the hymn “Amazing Grace” written by John Newton. Formerly an English slave trader, John wrote the hymn after he became an Anglican minister.
In reflection of God’s saving grace on his life, and in reading 1 Chronicles 17:16-17, John wrote the words that share the amazing grace God has.
What I love about “It Really Is Amazing Grace” is that Phil and Crowder add onto the reflection by giving us the chorus:
“Singing! Hallelujah! There’s no chains on me! Thank You, Jesus, You have set me free!
You welcomed in, called me by name
I was dead in my sin, now I’m dancing on that grave
Hallelujah!
It really is amazing grace”
And the bridge that says,
“I’ll testify of what He did
He gave me life, I’m born again
My heart is free, my soul is saved
It really is amazing grace”
Praying that as we go about our days on this earth, we take this reflection to heart, testifying what Jesus has done for us on the cross, and bringing many to Jesus.
