Zechariah 4:6, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts."
I’m embarrassed to say, but when my son first started driving, he put in gas and used the wrong fuel. You know the one that says, “DIESEL ONLY.” I’m not sure how he managed to use this hose as gas stations design diesel pumps to be too wide to fit into most gas tanks, but he did, and I got the inevitable call, “Dad, I’m not sure what’s happening with my car. It’s sputtering and doesn’t want to start.”
The world responds to brawn, to intelligence. It loves to promote the superficial, the beautiful, the go-getter, the powerful. Yet in God’s economy, those things don’t mean much. God’s Word tells us that when we are weak…we are really strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
Why? Because that’s when we tend to rely on Him.
Most of us grew up with the term, “God helps those who help themselves” as if it was scripture, but I’ve looked, and I still can’t find that verse. The truth is that God helps those that are completely dependent on Him.
Without getting too much into detail, gasoline engines can’t provide diesel with the temperatures it needs to combust, and, unable to evaporate sufficiently, diesel won’t ignite when the spark is released, and thus my son’s car sputtered and would not start. The same goes for the church, we need the right fuel!
God calls us to tasks greater than anything we could ever accomplish by our power. Just like a gas engine can’t operate on diesel, neither can the church be powered on what man can do. If we want to see God move in a mighty way, we must depend solely on His Spirit to empower us.

Edgardo – (URGENT UPDATE) Several complications have arisen. Onset of severe anemia requires blood transfusion. Has caused issues in other organs. Please pray that blood transfusion will be successful to stabilize his body and organ function. (submitted 2/6)
Baby Norah Rae – Please continue to lift up this beautiful baby to the Lord.
Juliet - Please continue to lift up our dear sister to the Lord. She will be having surgery on February 23 to remove a tumor in her spine. She has been experiencing much pain. Please also lift up her family to the Lord.
Please continue to pray for the Lee family – (Comfort and Salvation) Joey Lee passed away on Friday from Covid. The services will be held February 12 at CC El Monte (the Lee family are childhood friends of Pastor Manny who will be officiating the service). (2/1)
For our Nation - that we would return to the Lord and that He would have His hand upon us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
