Jonah 3:1-2, "Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”
Jonah is probably the most known minor prophet, not just in Sunday school but in general. When we think about Jonah we most likely think about a great fish (mentioned only four times), or a great city (named nine times), or even a disobedient prophet (mentioned eighteen times). But when we read the whole book we learn the character of God. The book of Jonah is about the will of God and how we respond to it. It’s also about the love of God and how we share it with others.
What were some of the lies Jonah believed?
1. He believed he could run from the call of God
2. He believed that he could run and hide from God’s presence
3. He believed his way was better than God’s way
Have you ever sensed a calling from the Lord, or maybe there was someone God brought your way to share the Gospel? And maybe we ran from that calling or ran from sharing the Gospel, we might not even like that person the Lord is trying to reach. We see how the Lord is with Jonah after he runs from his calling. Jonah faced his consequences and acknowledged his disobedience (Jon. 21:1-10), we read some comforting words, “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time.” You might be reading this and you're feeling discouraged or unworthy, be comforted, look up to your Maker. The Lord is waiting for you, like Jonah to fulfill the calling He has for you.
How gracious God is to bless the ministry of an imperfect servant!

Arellano family – please pray for this family at the passing of their loved one, Gabriel. Gabriel passed away on Saturday, January 30 in a motorcycle accident after he left his Grandmother’s memorial. Gabriel is the son of David and Terry, a grandson, a boyfriend to Gabriella, a Father of 2 little girls, ages 5 and 3, a brother, nephew, cousin and a friend. (submitted 2/3)
Please continue to lift Juliet G. in prayer. Her pain is increasing. She will be a having surgery on February 23 to remove a mass from her spine. Please pray for healing, and encouragement for her and her family.
Baby Norah Rae – UPDATE- (2/1) Praising the LORD for HIS faithfulness in taking care of Norah Rae. Specific requests: 1) Improvement in oral feedings. 2) She gains weight. 3) favorable results on follow-up with the neurologist, ophthalmologist, and ortho surgeon. We know our GOD is faithful and true. Pray for her life to continue to be used to minister to those who do not have a vibrant personal relationship with our LORD JESUS. That they would see HIS Handiwork in her life and know the ONE true GOD behind HIS miraculous works! (submitted 2/1)
Please continue to pray for the Lee family – (Comfort and Salvation) Joey Lee passed away on Friday from Covid. The services will be held February 12 at CC El Monte (the Lee family are childhood friends of Pastor Manny who will be officiating the service). (2/1)
For our Nation - that we would return to the Lord and that He would have His hand upon us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
