Proverbs 9:8, "Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you."

The book of Proverbs was written predominantly by Solomon. As you may recall, Solomon asked God for an understanding heart to discern between good and evil (1 Kings 3:9). Reading the book of Proverbs, Solomon provides advice that can be used in everyone’s daily lives. Just think about it, Solomon was one of the wisest men, second to Jesus and we have that knowledge given to him by God at our fingertips.

Proverb 9:8 spoke to me in two ways:

1. For those who seek to correct or criticize others, be mindful of who you choose to speak out against. There are many scoffers out there and fewer wise men. A scoffer is characterized as someone who mocks or makes fun of others.  We can do more harm than good if we choose the wrong person or situation to address.  We must pray, seek out God and be patient, waiting on the Lord before we speak out.

2. How do we react to correction and criticism? I, for one, tend to react inconsistently (please pray for me). After reading this Proverb, I felt convicted to be more attentive on how I receive correction and criticism. I need to realize correction and criticism come from God to let me know I am in the wrong and He can use the most unlikely person to deliver His message.

Solomon wrote over 3,000 proverbs for us to read.  We have God’s knowledge to help us seek Him. We also read in the Proverbs that fools despise wisdom. Let us not be fools, but welcome the wisdom God has for us.

Michael Boore- 14 years old (UPDATE from Michael’s Mom) First I would like to thank everyone who has been praying for Michael. As difficult a situation as this has been, it has also brought huge blessings. GOD has granted so many prayer requests and we are so grateful. Michael is seeking the LORD and is looking forward to his Baptism. Praise GOD!!! We still have a long way to go so we are asking for fervent prayer to continue for Michael. First, please pray that the LORD will use him and his situation to bless others and minister to them. Secondly, we are asking the LORD to remove the cancer cells and render them powerless to return. Finally, the big one, we are asking that the next MRI on March 22nd will be clear. These are big prayer requests but…we have a BIGGER GOD!!! (submitted 2/25)

Please pray that the Equality Act will not pass the Senate which advocates the LGBTQ lifestyle, causes confusion and inequality in ohter spheres of society, and threatens our religious liberty. (see video below) (unfortunately the Bill did pass the House and is now headed to the Senate).

Please pray for all the churches who are being persecuted for being open. We believe churches are essential and all people should be free to fellowship.
