Genesis 39:23, “The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.”

Not long ago, I had a conversation with another Christian about the election.  They truly believe the election was stolen and that Christians were going to come under fire during the next administration. During this conversation, I got to thinking about Joseph because I felt like his life could be an example to look to if this indeed were true.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. He served approximately 11 years as a slave and then was unjustly thrown into prison for doing what was right.

In today’s passage, we read that Joseph didn’t merely survive in prison. Instead, he was able to thrive in prison. In fact, we are told that he prospered in prison. He didn’t prosper because he learned a hustle that allowed him to come up. No, the bible teaches us that he prospered because the Lord was with him. God made whatever Joseph did prosper.

One of the things that I often think of when reading about Joseph’s life, is that I don’t read about him complaining or protesting his situation. He simply stayed the course. He knew God was with Him and he lived his best life because of it.

You see God had a plan for Joseph, and, even though Joseph didn’t know God’s plan, his faith remained intact.

Christian, God has a plan for each and every one of us. I can’t help but believe that our beliefs will come under increased hostility. Do not lose heart. I also believe that we can thrive in the coming environment.

Keep your eyes on Jesus! He has great plans for you and me!

Your brother in Christ,
Eleazar
