2 Samuel 7:22, 28, "Therefore You are great, O Lord GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 'And now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.'"
One of the things that I struggled with as a child, much like all of us, was when my parents told me “no.” It either could have been in response to something that they thought I didn’t need or someplace they didn’t want me to go. I would get so upset and really didn’t understand why they didn’t say "yes." Now as a parent myself, I am understanding more and more the reasons as parents, we deny the “good” things to our children.
In chapter 7 of 2 Samuel, David has an idea to build a house for the Lord. Most of us would have agreed with David’s aspirations to make a proper dwelling place for the Lord. This definitely would fall into the realm of something good, worthwhile, and respectable.
Through Nathan the Prophet, the Lord denies David’s request and tells him that someone else from his seed would build Him a house. David could have gone ahead and “started” but he instead “submitted.” We learn from 2 Chronicles 29 that David even helped gather the supplies for the future build.
"Lord help me to be close to you to hear."
“If you cannot have what you hoped for, do not sit down in despair and allow the energies of your life to run to waste; but arise, and gird yourself to help others to achieve. If you may not build, you may gather materials for him that shall. If you may not go down the mine, you can hold the ropes.”

Alfonso Lopez - Received Covid-19 vaccine last week and is now seriously ill in ER. Not sure of his salvation. Also pray for his daughter Daisy who is very worried about her dad. (submitted 1/20)
Mercy O. - Got an antibody infusion at City of Hope, so prayerfully this will help her not to get anymore worsening symptoms of Covid. (submitted 1/20)
Jose Y. - In the hospital with Covid pneumonia, may be coming home today or tomorrow with an oxygen tank. Thank you for your continual prayers for him. (submitted 1/20)
Elsa Y. - Has Covid and fighting a sinus infection (fever -off and on, bad headache and fatigue) Please keep her in prayer. (submitted 1/20)
Eliada (La La) - (Eva B. sister) Eliada has been released from the hospital and is back home on oxygen and doing better. Thank you all for continual prayers for her full recovery. (submitted 1/20)
Baby Norah Rae - Please continue to pray for this precious little girl who was born on January 14 and is need of our prayers. Please also pray for mommy Raelene and for daddy Raymond, for strength and peace. May our Lord be glorified through it all.
Juliet G. - Continual prayer for Juliet who has a mass on her spinal cord. Pray for strength, peace, and healing. She underwent an MRI and other procedures - waiting for results due in this Friday.
For our Nation - that we would return to the Lord and that He would have His hand upon us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
