Today's Devotional - January 20, 2020

Revelation 22:20, “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

This has been a year like none in my lifetime! I can’t say what it was like living through the “Black Death” plague that struck Europe and Asia in the mid 1300’s. I wasn’t around during the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918. I only know that Covid has been devastating on so many levels. The devastation has been unprecedented, at least in my lifetime.

In Revelation chapter 22:20 Jesus says, “Surely I am coming quickly!” I don’t know when Jesus will return, I only know that if Jesus said it, then it is going to happen. I simply need to stay the course He has set for me.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

I cannot allow my circumstances to dictate where I stand with Jesus. I can’t allow my situation to sway me one way or the other. I only need to remember 1 thing: Jesus is coming!

When the world around me is falling apart, I only need to stand on the promise that Jesus is coming!

In the middle of a worldwide pandemic, remember that Jesus is coming! In the second part of verse 20 John’s reply is, “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

Yes! Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

I want to leave you with this: If you have already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then please, please, keep in mind that there are so many scared, lost, and dying people out there who need the hope that only comes from Him! Do not allow another second to pass without sharing that hope with that person God has laid on your heart. You know the one!!!

If you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then today is the day of salvation. Simply believe in your heart confess with your mouth and get in touch with a bible teaching church today.

Your brother in Christ,
Eleazar
